The Sher Allergy team is here for our patients and because of our patients. We appreciate their confidence in us and are honored to welcome word-of-mouth referrals of their family and friends. At Sher Allergy, we offer our patients and families an approach, a care philosophy, and a clinic setting that makes patients want to stay on track and stick with their allergy treatment program for success. It all starts with a productive initial evaluation so our doctors and patients can start working toward allergy relief right away. Our top doctors are also available to new and established patients through Telehealth, an interactive videoconference that is a covered benefit by most insurance plans.
INITIAL EVALUATION VISIT
We want to make your first and every visit a satisfying experience. Please help us accomplish that by expecting our team to gather demographic and insurance information during the time of scheduling your initial appointment. Once your appointment is scheduled, our reception team will direct you to the online registration system known as “Phreesia”. The Phreesia Patient Management System will make registration for your initial evaluation and follow-up visits secure, easy, and fast. Please let our reception team know if you need assistance completing the registration process. We will ensure that all of the required paperwork is completed prior to your visit.
For your security, please be prepared with the following information:
All insurance cards
Driver’s license or photo identification
List of all prescriptions and over-the-counter medications you currently take
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR ALLERGY EVALUATION VISIT
Our goal is to present you with a diagnosis and recommend a treatment program at the conclusion of your initial evaluation. We will begin a thorough evaluation by listening to your allergy journey, followed by a detailed medical history, physical examination, and allergy testing as indicated. In order to perform allergy testing during the initial visit, certain medications need to be discontinued prior to your visit to avoid their interference with the testing results and interpretation. Please review our Allergy Testing Dos and Don’ts upon scheduling your initial evaluation appointment. After your initial visit, your Sher Allergy allergist will send a letter to your primary care or referring doctor to facilitate care coordination integral to your health and wellbeing.
FEES & INSURANCE
Leave the work to us! Sher Allergy Specialists participates in most insurance plans, including but not limited to: Aetna, Baycare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, Tricare, United HealthCare, and many others. Insurance plans change often so please call our office for current information.
Prior to your visit, our office team will call to review your insurance eligibility and benefit information, as well as your anticipated financial responsibility. Sher Allergy Specialists’ policy is to request payment at the time of service.
PHREESIA PATIENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Introducing Phreesia! Sher Allergy Specialists is always striving to enhance our patients’ experience. We’ve implemented a new and easy touch-pad technology for each appointment check-in. Phreesia allows you to update your information, electronically sign forms, and securely pay your copay and any due balances. At future visits, you will only need to verify the information that you’d previously entered to ensure that it is current and to make any necessary edits. Phreesia can be used during your in-office visit or remotely from the comfort of your home or mobile device.
