SKIN ALLERGY

Skin allergies are common, acute and chronic problems, and can be difficult to diagnose and control.

Sher Allergy Specialists will determine if you have a skin allergy, identify the allergen, and develop an effective treatment program aimed at controlling the underlying cause as well as the symptoms.

SHER ALLERGY SPECIALISTS’ SKIN ALLERGY EXPERTISE

Got rash? Have you worn a new cosmetic or perfume or jewelry? You may be having an allergic reaction, which is very different from an occasional skin irritation. Skin allergies carry the risk of future and more severe reactions. Skin allergies produce itchy, red, painful, bumpy, scaly, and/or rash skin resulting in disrupted sleep, embarrassment, “fog” resulting from over-the-counter symptom treatments, and more. Skin allergies are often associated with asthma and nasal allergy (allergic rhinitis/hay fever).

Sher Allergy Allergists are specialists in:

  • Hives (Urticaria)

  • Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

  • Contact Dermatitis

  • Swelling (Angiodema)

  • Itchy skin (Pruritus)

  • Metal Allergy

ABOUT SKIN ALLERGY CONDITIONS

Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

Eczema produces red and itchy skin commonly in children but it can also occur in adults. Eczema is often accompanied by Asthma or Hay Fever (allergic rhinits).  There is no cure yet but Sher Allergy Specialists offers a full range of treatment options to manage symptoms.

Hives (Urticaria)

Most hives have no known cause (idiopathic hives). They generally look like raised red bumps that spread or disappear and reappear on the skin, and they almost always produce itching. Hives can be a chronic problem that lasts several weeks and comes and goes without explanation. Our Allergists will confirm diagnosis and offer treatment options to manage irritating and disruptive symptoms.

Contact Dermatitis

Got rash?  Have you worn a new cosmetic or perfume or jewelry? You may be having an allergic reaction, which is very different from an occasional skin irritation. Skin allergies carry the risk of future and more severe reactions. Other skin conditions we diagnose and treat are: Itching (Pruritus), Swelling (Angiodema) Rash, and Mastocytosis.
